- Kimberly Wolf, M.Ed.FounderKimberly Wolf, M.Ed. has dedicated her studies and career to supporting girls’ health, well-being, and education on- and offline. Her dynamic professional experience in cause media, education, and public health, gives her particular insight into finding, creating, and communicating engaging information to teen girls. Kimberly graduated from Brown University, where her senior thesis exploring the history and evolution of sexual health content in girls’ magazines earned honors in Women’s Studies. She also holds a master’s degree in Human Development and Psychology from the Harvard Graduate School of Education where she studied adolescent health communication. She is a national speaker, and she has been quoted in publications including CNN.com, WebMD and Health.com.
- Veronica CortezOperations StrategistVeronica Cortez has never been able to ignore her entrepreneurial streak, her love of team leadership, or her passion for making visions into realities. With experience working as a COO, Community Manager, Consultant, and Executive Assistant at numerous Silicon Valley startups, Veronica has assisted in building numerous organizations from the ground up. She has helped guide ideas from napkin drawings to working prototypes, and she has grown and managed online communities of thousands. With ShimmerTeen, she is excited to help a new generation of girls become healthy, centered, empowered women.
- Dr. Amy HeroldOB/GYN & Medical DirectorDr. Herold received her undergraduate degree in French from the University of Utah before earning a combined MD/MBA from St. Louis University where she graduated with honors. She has a special interest in women's health and adolescent medicine which fueled her desire to go into the field of Gynecology. While in practice after her residency, she was also the medical director for the Lotus Collaborative, an outpatient eating disorder program. She is now a hospital-based physician at two Northern California facilities.
- Dr. Blake GurfeinBlake Gurfein, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco's Osher Center for Integrative Medicine, Division of Experimental Medicine.
- Elizabeth GentryElizabeth, 19, is from Houston, Texas. She is entering her sophomore year at Texas A&M, where she plans to major in Communications and minor in Spanish. Elizabeth loves social media, editing, and writing, and she is passionate about sharing knowledge to empower younger generations. In addition to her work at ShimmerTeen, she interns at The Rise School of Houston and volunteers at her church in their youth program as both a leader for adolescent girls and a camp counselor.
- Riley WalkerRiley is 18 years old and is from Los Angeles. She is a rising sophomore at Wake Forest University where she plans to major in Communication and double minor in Entrepreneurship and Journalism. Riley is passionate about writing, languages, health, and fashion. In addition to Shimmerteen, Riley interns at a showroom in LA called Findings Inc. and hopes to pursue a career in the fashion industry.
- Domenica RoseA freshman in high school, Domenica plays field hockey and lacrosse and is a member of her school’s community service program. Her favorite subjects are math and science, so she loves ShimmerTeen’s focus on providing reliable science-based information on health, relationships, and media.
- Emily S.ContributorEmily works in media research in NYC. She loves to poke around and find the latest apps to keep her life (and yours) in order! With a Masters in Technology, Innovation and Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, she understands and can tease apart the pros and cons of the technology and digital media we use every day.
- Sadie ScottSadie is a 16-year-old sophomore who loves spending time with her friends and family, running, writing for her school newspaper, and playing guitar with her dad. She also enjoys lacrosse, hiking, and baking. Sadie feels a strong commitment towards positive gender messaging and deeply believes in ShimmerTeen’s mission to empower girls of all ages with information about health and wellness.
- Madeleine MatsonContributorMaddy Matson is a senior at UCLA studying Communications, with a minor in Gender Studies. She is active on the Board of Directors for the UCLA Student Alumni Association. She is passionate about female empowerment and feminist issues, and would like to pursue a career in the non-profit sector.

In recovery from an eating disorder, she is extremely passionate about helping others who struggle with mental health issues and wants to help erase the stigma around mental disorders. She's a crazy cat lady, runs a blog on her journey to recovery, and is currently majoring in creative writing at University of North Carolina at Asheville.
